The Austrian Orchid Society is constituted as an association in the federal area of Austria.
Objectives of the association are support and promotion of growing, breeding and propagation of orchids on the basis of conservational means, especially for the local terrestrial rochids threatened by extiction.
The association "Österreichische Orchideengesellschaft" pursues solely non-profit objectives.
The objectives are to be met by the following means :

• Propagation of endangered species of temperate and tropical orchids from seeds or by vegetative propagation
• Exchange of individuals of endangered species of temperate and tropical orchids
• Events in the forms of meetings, public lectures, training courses, exhibitions and excursions
• Setup and Support of local groups and special interst groups
• Exchange of informations between the local members, external societies and their members as well as with Botanical Gardens and other Institutions
• Exchange of books and journals, publication of literature, publication of new bulletins, pictorals and videos
